A bit of Architectural Theory...

So today I am trying to complete my journal for readings in modern architectural theory which is part of my MArch course.
At the moment I am discussing Signs, Semiotics, Significance which leads me to comment of Le Corbusier, where i discuss the symbolism of Modernist Architecture and how once the image above, city planning devolved from Corbusier's theories on the subject was meant to herald a new age, to create new social cities and better living, it is the perfect example of how symbolism changes as after the downfall of Modernism this image takes on rather more sinister connotations, as did much of Modernism, soviet Russia has countless examples of how this architecture represents oppression and a new impersonal society.
I think this is why many Architects now tend to disregard theory in their practice as its symbolism and meaning can change over time, however by having no theory do we create disposable architecture with no meaning to anyone, which cannot stand the test of time as no-one has views or a relationship with it.

Icelandic Style
So, I am an Architecture Student, though I think I can now just say architect, and I recently went to Reykjavik well last week actually to investigate my new site, the place is amazing. Put it on your bucket list NOW, i am not joking. Everything you see makes you go wow (even the amazing inappropriate highway roads in the middle of town and the penis museum)
This is a sketch I did of my new outfit, it goes in my 'lookbook' which I am working on alongside a video of my MArch One year, inspired ridicously by beyonce year of 4. incredible woman!
anyhow this dress is by Kalda, an icelandic fashion designing duo, now stocked in Liberty London (;) Nancy) though not all their range, I want to buy everything in Iceland, well Reykjavik I promise to at some point put up a video of the most incredible 2nd hand shop ever!!!
My new Project for Reykjavik is a 100sqm Photographers studio with an temporary runway which in someway (concept stage) will fold down from the main building, for use in the Reykjavik fashion festival and Icelandic fashion week, which they should persevere with, it was previously slammed.
So my head feels like it will explode, main reason for re-taking up blogging, just to get it out there but yesterday i felt wonderfully happy Hope you guys do too. Enjoy!!!

Ok so I know i do not really use this blog, i never check facebook and i got a twitter account just to stalk an architect i needed to talk to. But hey because the only other person who might ever read this is going to Hong Kong I need to post information, and Nancy you know what I am going to post stuff, fashion my work (architecture) for those who don't know and any queries you might have about, our hopefully joint venture.

I will let you in on a secret I may be up to my neck in an MArch but i am trying to finish the two Organos books i promised before you leave.

I will send them you and a letter, incase you never read this. The letter will be eye-wateringly personal just a heads up. and I promise to read your blog, its beautiful and please, please do not give up on your writing, you can do and you know that. As much as I am often angry, pissed off and annoyed at you I love you and always will so look out for your parcel (told you eye-wateringly personal)

Plus that extract you gave me of one of your stories to read is amazing, perhaps not technically but conceptually amazing! Stick at it. And now that is quite enough of a break for me, gonna follow you blog so you hopefully read this that way, gotta get back to measuring eave heights. Love you loads and if you can get out on saturday nite would be fab, cud chat at yours a bit.

Sorry everyone HAHA as if, who may have read this incredibly personal blog entry, But i promise fashion and architecture soon! Vogue published an architectural piece in March edition SHOCK!!!
